Vintage Green Glass Carafe Bottle with Cork Stopper | Embossed Decorative Bottle

A wonderfully characterful vintage green glass carafe or bottle, with a beautiful deep emerald colour and an unusual elongated teardrop shape.

Standing approximately 23 cm tall, the bottle has a broad rounded base which gently narrows into a long slender neck, finished with a substantial rolled glass rim.

The rich green glass is full of subtle variations, bubbles and imperfections that catch the light beautifully and give the piece plenty of old-world character.

An embossed crest or armorial-style motif decorates the body of the bottle, adding another interesting detail without overwhelming its wonderfully simple form.

At the top is a cork stopper fitted with a metal loop, giving the piece an appealing utilitarian quality and making it particularly attractive displayed in a rustic kitchen, on open shelving or amongst a collection of old glassware.

Why We Like It

The colour is fantastic.

Placed near a window or somewhere that catches natural light, the thick green glass changes beautifully from almost bottle green to much brighter jewel-like shades.

We also love the contrast between the elegant pear-shaped body and the wonderfully simple cork and metal closure. It feels decorative without being overly formal.
It's one of those pieces that works just as well standing on its own as it does as part of a larger collection.
