Les Cidres de France – Collection No. 034 celebrates one of the great traditions of rural French food and drink. Six different cider styles are illustrated: Cidre Brut, Cidre Doux, Cidre Rosé, Cidre Fermier, Cidre Pétillant and Cidre Réserve. Each is presented with its own bottle, glass and carefully illustrated details, from ripe orchard apples and delicate blossom to an old cider jug and miniature wooden barrel. Around the collection, scenes of orchards, traditional cidreries, apple presses and barrel-filled cellars tell the wider story of cider making — from fruit growing on the tree to the finished bottle on the table. The result is an artwork that celebrates not simply cider, but the landscape, seasons and traditions behind it.

Artwork Inspiration

This print takes inspiration from the cider-making regions of France, particularly Normandy and Brittany, where orchards, farmhouse cider and traditional apple varieties remain an important part of regional culture. Its style draws upon vintage French agricultural posters, old cider labels, orchard illustrations and the advertising artwork once used by small regional producers. The decorative typography, antique border and softly aged background are intended to give Les Cidres de France the appearance of a piece that might have once hung inside an old rural cidrerie before eventually finding its way to a brocante.
