Deep purple fruits grow amongst twisting vines and lush green foliage, accompanied by the spectacular flowers that make the passion fruit plant so distinctive. With their white petals, intricate purple-and-white coronas and sculptural centres, the flowers are every bit as striking as the fruit itself.

The composition also reveals the inside of the passion fruit, with cut fruits displaying the glistening golden pulp and seeds hidden beneath their dark purple skins. Curling tendrils weave throughout the artwork, giving the illustration a wonderfully natural sense of movement.

The inscription “Trésors du Verger à l’Ancienne – Exotiques, Parfumés & Délicieusement Acidulés” translates approximately as Treasures of the Traditional Orchard – Exotic, Fragrant & Deliciously Tangy.
