Why We Love It

There is something particularly satisfying about the contrast in this print.

From the outside, the kiwi is an understated little brown fruit. Cut it open and suddenly there is that extraordinary circle of bright green flesh and tiny black seeds.

We wanted the artwork to capture both sides of the fruit, which is why the whole kiwis sit alongside halves and a cut segment at the bottom of the composition.

The large, richly textured leaves also give Les Kiwis a much deeper green palette than many of the warmer fruit prints in the collection. It makes a particularly useful piece for bringing some contrast into a gallery wall alongside oranges, mandarins, peaches and other golden or red fruits.
