Clusters of plump gooseberries hang amongst wonderfully textured green leaves, their translucent skins illustrated in shades ranging from fresh green and golden yellow through to a delicate rosy blush. Fine stripes and tiny details across the fruit give them an almost jewel-like appearance, while sprays of delicate blossom and a cut gooseberry revealing its seed-filled interior add the character of a traditional botanical study.

The soft green, cream and muted pink palette gives this artwork a particularly calm and natural feel. It is less boldly coloured than many of the fruits in the collection, making it a lovely choice for softer French-country kitchens, garden rooms and interiors inspired by nature.
