Bring a little rustic character to your kitchen with our handmade wooden mug rack, designed and made by us at The Little Brocante Shop.

Made from solid timber and finished to bring out the natural grain, knots and character of the wood, each rack has a wonderfully simple farmhouse feel. Four or Six chunky wooden pegs provide a practical place to hang your favourite mugs while turning them into part of your kitchen display.

The 4 mug holder is 60cm wide and is substantial enough to make a feature on the wall without taking over the room – perfect above a worktop, coffee station, dresser or kitchen shelf.

The 6 mug holder is 90cm wide.

The simple design works beautifully in country, farmhouse, rustic and French-inspired kitchens, and because the mugs hang outwards from the wall, even generously sized handled mugs can be displayed easily.

Made from Real Wood

One of the things we particularly like about these racks is that no two will ever be exactly the same.

The timber naturally contains variations in grain, knots, markings and colour, which we deliberately retain rather than trying to make every piece look factory-perfect. These natural characteristics are part of the finished rack and give each one its own individual appearance.

The wood is given a warm rustic finish that enhances the grain and gives the rack the appearance of a piece that has belonged in a country kitchen for years.

Four Generous Wooden Pegs

Rather than small metal hooks, we've used four substantial wooden pegs, evenly spaced across the rack.

The pegs project approximately 10cm from the wall, giving plenty of room for mug handles and helping the mugs hang naturally rather than sitting tightly against the timber.

They're also useful for more than mugs – the rack could be used for tea towels, small kitchen utensils, measuring cups or other lightweight kitchen accessories.

As each rack is individually handmade from real timber, the grain, knots, colouring and markings will naturally vary from the example photographed. We think that's part of what makes them special.

Why We Like It

We wanted to create something that felt at home alongside all the old French pottery, stoneware and kitchen pieces we find on our travels.

It's simple, useful and full of natural character – and once you've hung a few favourite mugs from it, it becomes as much a piece of rustic kitchen décor as it is practical storage.

We particularly love it with blue-and-white pottery, old French café mugs and chunky stoneware cups, but its understated design means it works with almost any kitchen style.
